Analysis Is a Team Sport — Now Phaide Treats It Like One
Insight rarely stays with one person. A question you ask in a chat, the dashboard you assemble from the answer — both are more valuable the moment a colleague can build on them. Phaide's team collaboration features let you share both chat analyses and dashboards with people in your organization, while keeping precise control over who can do what.
Sharing is built around three roles. A Viewer can open and read the shared item but cannot change it. An Editor can view, edit, and share it further. An Owner can do everything an editor can, plus grant ownership to others and delete the item. Every shared item keeps at least one owner at all times, so control is never accidentally lost.
There is one difference worth knowing. Chats are shared by inviting specific organization members one at a time. Dashboards support that same per-member invitation and add an organization-wide default — a single setting that grants everyone in your organization Viewer or Editor access without inviting each person individually.
Why It Matters
The point of sharing is to remove the copy-paste tax. Instead of exporting a chart, pasting it into a deck, and re-explaining the question behind it, you hand a colleague the living analysis itself. They see the same conversation, the same data, the same dashboard you do — and they can keep working in it.
Role-based access means you can be generous without being reckless. Share a dashboard with the whole organization as Viewer so everyone stays informed, while keeping the small group who maintain it as Editors. Bring a teammate into a chat as an Editor to co-investigate a question, or as a Viewer simply to keep them in the loop. Because sharing is scoped to your organization, nothing leaks beyond the people who belong there.
And because ownership is protected — only owners can promote someone else to owner, and the last owner can never be removed — shared work has a clear, stable line of responsibility no matter how many people touch it.
How to Share a Chat or Dashboard
Sharing a chat:
- Open the chat you want to share from your chat list.
- In the top-right of the chat screen, click the Share button.
- In the "Share chat" dialog, use Add a member to search for a colleague by name or email.
- Choose their role — Owner, Editor, or Viewer — and add them. They will see the chat in their own workspace immediately.
- The Members section lists everyone with access. Change a role from its dropdown, or remove a member at any time.
The Share button appears only for owners and editors, so people with view-only access can read freely without changing who else is involved.
Sharing a dashboard:
- Open the dashboard you want to share.
- In the top-right, open the three-dot Actions menu and select Share.
- In the "Manage members" dialog, invite specific people under Add a member, exactly as you would for a chat.
- To open the dashboard to everyone, use Share with the whole organization and pick a default role of Viewer or Editor — or leave it on Not shared to keep it private to invited members.
- Individual roles and the organization-wide default work together: when someone has both, the stronger permission wins.

Who can I share with? Anyone in your organization. Sharing is scoped to your organization's members, so shared chats and dashboards never reach people outside it.
What's the difference between Owner, Editor, and Viewer? Viewers can only view. Editors can view, edit, and share. Owners can do all of that and also grant ownership to others and delete the item.
Can I share a dashboard with my entire team at once? Yes. Dashboards have a "Share with the whole organization" setting that grants everyone Viewer or Editor access in one step, without inviting each person individually. Chats are shared per member.
What happens if someone has both an individual role and the organization-wide role on a dashboard? The stronger of the two permissions applies. For example, if the organization default is Viewer but you've been added individually as an Editor, you get Editor access.
Can the owner be removed by accident? No. Every shared item must always have at least one owner, so the last remaining owner cannot be removed or demoted. Only an owner can grant ownership to someone else.
Can I set the whole organization as Owner on a dashboard? No. The organization-wide default can only be Viewer or Editor. Ownership is always granted to specific people.
